Loving my k6000 pro so far, battery life is insane and it feels really solid in my hands.
Camera could be better, but it gets the job done. Really liking the design, and the extra weight is a plus for me.

5/7 would buy again
>>
>>55872151
It's from /csg/ and they won't let edit update it.
>>
>>55872063
About once a year I'd wipe it and flash a new custom rom and it was like brand new again. It had all the essential features: unlocked bootloader, replaceable battery, mSD card slot. I wish there was a phone comparable to that now; the closest thing is the RN3P but its chink and doesn't have all US bands. I don't have a lot of confidence that phones out now could last me 4+ years.
>>
>>55872074
All of the features I listed were there in 2014.

G4 was -$40 when I got it, too (back in October/November). No contracts anymore is p. nice.
>>
>>55872220
I mean its really always gonna be a gamble. You can't wait 5 years to look at a device to see if it will actually last. It's not like buying a used car. The tech updates so quickly in this market that there isn't really time for it.

Just do it bruh. You sound like you need the upgrade and the HTC 10 is the best device build quality wise HTC has ever made. They're taking proper cues in software as well by debilitating their own shit.
>>
>>55872326
Ah. I'm off-carrier. That's an amazing deal though, for a phone that's worth $200 used.
>>
>>55872257
>Can't cross thread preview

It's okay but I still think it needs work. They should make it more like the actual website and take cues from 4chanx.
>>
>>55872359
Yeah I probably will get the HTC 10. It just kills me that it's so hard to find a high quality phone with a replaceable battery now - a feature which essentially doubles the life of the device.
>>
>>55872428
Just trust that it will not be a problem like it was on the s3, that's for fucking sure.
>>

Reposting from the last thread.

What are /spg/'s opinions on protection plans? The 2 year plan for the OP3 is $80.
>>
>>55872936
I mean I wouldn't fucking pay 80 dollars for a chink phone protection plan since the fucking gimmick is that the phone is is supposed to be low price.

But then again, my op3's camera and flashlight died within 24 hours.

Personally I wouldn't even buy a op3 at all after that ordeal. I'd pure gonna she out 80 dollars why not just increase your phone budget total and go for a more reputable brand?

Got an iPhone SE a couple days ago. Fucking LOVING this thing: absolute no lag with anything (crazy performance) combined with perfect ergonomics. A bunch of my friends have 6's / 6S's and the usability, particularly one-handed, is massively compromised. Plus the battery life for my usage is simply epic. I'm coming from an Android phone (having had a bunch of iPhones before) and the software available for iOS is massively more refined; if your budget allows for an iPhone then don't even consider Android imo. The only advantage with Android, apart from price, is ease of piracy. Everything else is janky as fuck.

They're nearly the same phone spec wise. With the moto x you get the 808 instead of the housefire 810, and the sd card slot. with the 6p you get the bigger battery, usb type c and a fingerprint reader you won't use, but no microsd, and a worse camera.

what it really comes down to is how much you bought it for. considering the moto x pure can be had for 200-300 dollars new.

so you can keep the 6p if it's everything you need it to be, or you can return it, get the moto x pure, buy a 128gb micro sd card for 30 dollars, a case, screen protectors, extra chargers and cables and still be under that 400 dollars.

the only thing you won't get out of this deal are the bleeding edge android updates. but that really isn't a fucking problem unless you're a developer or some shit.

Posting from my Pure now, it's a great phone for $250. You'll need to flash a nightly if you want CM but it's pretty stable. The screen is fuckhuge but the width of the phone is pretty much the same as the 2014 X so it wasn't much of an adjustment for me. Curved back feels good and the plastic is textured nicely. Mostly everything just werks and it all goes well together. Only downside is the 808 but it's doing just fine so far.

My Redmi Note 3 Pro which I liked alot due to the fact it filled all my needs properly has unfortunately bit the dust, I was thinking about getting another one since they are only about 200$ off of eBay (that includes shipping) but I just want to consider any other devices, so I'm asking /spg/, my RN3P on CM used to get 8-10 hours of SOT - varying with usage between the 8-10 hours mark, but i want another device with at least a snapdragon 600 + 2-3gb+ of ram and a 1080p screen is fine, I just really loved that 8-10 hours of screen on time (thanks to its 4000mah battery) and id like it again, preferably with more hardware quality than the Redmi Note 3 Pro, but if no other device offers this + CM (or be bundled with a stock like build) then I'll have to go with buying another one, sorry for ranting on.

HTC 10 or S7.
>>
>>55876301
If you want to install custom ROMs and have root? OP3. If you don't care and just want something good, the S7. TouchWiz aside, the phone is great according to a co-worker of mine.

You could always just use Nova or similar launcher if TouchWiz really bothers you that bad.

If you were playing with the display model, then keep in mind that thing was on 16 hours a day at full 100% screen brightness with a countless number of apps running in the background more often than not. So opening the camera and having it lag a bit is probably because the phone is just so loaded down with all the shit all the other customers were doing to it.

Or could just be Samsung. You know how they are with bloat.

I'm buying my mom a phone around the 300 euro range. She has been using an Samsung s3 for years now so I'll have to go with android. After looking around I think it's between the Nexus 5x or Huawei Honor 7. I've been using nexus 5 myself and have been fairly happy with it but people say the Honor 7 is really good bang for your buck. Honestly I'm mostly looking for which one has the best long lasting build quality and battery life. Any advice would be helpful.

Actually I lost my phone at a party 2 weeks ago and Igot my GFs old iPhone 5s 'til I buy my Oneplus 3.

Never had an iPhone before or any Apple product before. It's pretty ok. I was shitting on iPhones before a lot, there's still a lot of crap with iOS, but the optimization is insanely good.

User experience is fine for messenger, pokemon go, spotify and other pleb stuf, even though it's an old phone now, I was surprised.

The whole Apple ID stuff where you have to give your credit card account, mothers name, address and you directly connect to steve jobs's anus in the grave to read a pdf makes my skin crawl tho.

So does the keyboard and the text select, the multitasking, the icons, home screen and the fucking menus, but worst of all the shitty touch ID and the lack of a motherfucking back button.

I'm pretty satisfied with it as a temporary replacement tho and I see how it could be a one size fits all pleb device.

Also having to use virtualbox with fucking windows with fucking iTunes to connect it to a PC using linux is retarded.

The iphone 6s plus is the best phone. Blows all the other iphones out of the water and is slightly faster than the s7 Edge. Too big and clunky for me though so I went with the s7 edge. s7 edge has the best looking screen on a phone at the moment. Camera wise the s7 has more vivid color, but the iphone has better detail up close. Quad core and expandable storage makes the s7 a better longterm option.
>>
I've got a moto x 2014. Do I need to upgrade? Or should I wait.

>>
>>55877203
you could tuff out one more year before it gets to feel real dated. by about this time next year there will be a good lineup of new stuff to check out. oneplus will most likely have another iteration, more xiaomi chinky devices, more htc and samsung, maybe moto might even make a decent phone.
>>
>>55877203
Depends. If you're truly running out of space and it's bothering you, get something with a micro SD slot. The s6/7 phones are great, but again as I mentioned earlier in the thread, if root and custom ROM support are a priority for you, find something else. Samsung phones and devices are notoriously difficult to break when it comes to getting root, and getting it to play nice with a ROM. Especially if the phone is a carrier branded one.

You already have a Motorola moto X 2014, why not buy the Motorola moto X pure? $400 brand new. 32GB internal and a caddy that shares the same space as the sim card. It's what in posting from right now. Got me a Kingston class 10 64GB microSD card for $12.

With most half way decent phones having a default camera resolution of 5k+, pictures and recording adds up real quick. And with Samsung having released their 250GB microSD card, other companies are sure to follow, driving prices way down as well as all other capacities, specifically 128GB. In a few months time, 128GB cards will be $15. If that.

The build quality is pretty damn good, the phone feels solid and I enjoy holding it
Navigation was a bit weird to start but ive got the hang of it now, mainly because I came from a note 3 and havnt used a proper keypad in a while
Screens are alright, but being 480x800 4" display they obviously arent going to be as nice as most other handsets

Come across 3 problems so far
Keypad feels cheap compared to the rest of the phone, even the battery cover feels higher quality. Theres lag when using the volume rocker and its top heavy even with the battery installed

Oneplus 3 is a full metal frame, much better built.

Only downside of the OP3 is that it badly needs a software fix for the video stabilization, so far it's unusable. If that doesn't hurt you too much, it's a no-contest, the 6P isn't built to withstand use.

So what's the catch?
Buying off the google store gives you customer service but still the 1 year manufacturer warranty?
Is there literally no point of buying it off the Google Store?

I'd grab this newegg deal right away if it;s the same shit. How long has it been $499 for?

You can really only get the black 32 from goog. The others are way more expensive.

It started out as part of their july sale, so I dont know if it's going to last much longer now it's August. Or maybe it'll permanently be at this price now since the new nexus line is coming. Don't know really.

here's the gold

I'm interested in the Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 Pro but I'm on AT&T. I looked it up and only the global version supports AT&T's 4G band, but I can't find it for sale anywhere.

Am I just bad at searching or is the global note 3 pro not out yet?
>>
Don't really have a budget but I'm finding it hard to justify a £500-700 phone over a OP3/Xiaomi 5, only thing that make's me hesitate on the OP3 is no SD card slot and being able to use CM on a OP3 compared to no CM yet for Galaxy 7 series is a +.

I'm still using a Galaxy Note 2 (720 x 1280) so anythings going to be a huge upgrade for me.

I'm not a heavy phone user though I'd like enough space for music and some emulators (usb-c -> hdmi with a bluetooth controller sounded good to me as well)

Any reason I shouldn't get a OP3 or any reason I should get a Galaxy 7/Edge, HTC 10, LG G5? Or maybe wait and see how much the 7 note is.
>>
>>55881544
Yessir I am. Ended up getting their 5000mhz power bank, a dual port fast charging car charger, and 6ft micro USB cable. I'll be recommending Anker to anyone who needs phone stuff now.
>>
For those out there who own the OP3 / One Plus 3 (>>55882519 included),

how long have you had it for and what are your thoughts?
Any specific apps it runs smooth on / terribly?
Any huge cons?

Thanks

Giving up on the Huawei P8 lite.

There are a few Roms in development by a bunch of rookie devs, but they're all for the Kirin variant and I have an ALE-L04.

EMUI isn't terrible, not a lot of bloat and it looks pretty okay, but MM is likely not being made for the Qualcomm variant.

With the Qualcomm variant your customization ends with xposed, and even then a lot of features in gravitybox are buggy.

It's easy to unlock, flash a custom recovery and root. I got caught in a bootloop trying to flash the xposed framework but after doing a stock recovery and rooting again it worked fine.

As far as chink shit under 200 it's pretty good, but I highly recommend staying away from the Qualcomm variant if you ever want to see an update for this handset.
>>
>>55882856
It's literally perfect if you don't need waterproofing or a mSD slot.

How's the battery life on the OP3? I'm coming from a phone that barely gets 2~ hours.

I need a phone for my mom.
What she needs:
>Battery that can hopefully last until the evening and then some
>150$ max
What I need:
>Ease of maintenance: sane ROM, easy root, perhaps xposed
>At least two years of use with no problems

I'm thinking of getting her a Xiaomi Redmi 3.
Should I consider something else?

No, only phones with shitty, overheating SoC's... like the N5X (SD808) which is known to throttle when it hits 40c.

>>55875668
Redmi 3s is better.

>>55875994
What made the RN3P attractive is the powerful SoC and huge battery. sadly that is something nearly no one else offers. the other chickphones with huge batteries K6000 Pro/Ulefone Power/Leagoo Shark 1 all come with MTK6753 which is quite weak.

Phones with SD652 (vivo/idol 4s) are expensive and with smaller batteries.

Some anon had a thread last week where he claimed his phone started brute force attacks on his LAN after installing ES File Explorer.

I've switched to MiXplorer from XDA. Amaze doesn't work right now with SMB (looks like a formatting error with username login) and I had already used my trial with Solid Explorer some time ago.

Thinking of getting an S7 Edge but I don't know that much about phones and haven't been paying attention for the last few years.
