Hey /g/ I have a question for you all. I am in my first semester of school for an associates degree. The program covers a wide range of programming languages and topics, but it also gives me the option to choose a concentration. There are three different options and I want to figure out which one would give me the best shot at landing a decent job in the future. I am still pretty new to everything so I can't say I have a preference on what kind of job I want.
The three concentrations are:
1.) .NET Emphasis
2.) Java Emphasis
3.) PHP Emphasis
I don't need to make a decision until next semester but I figured I could start teaching myself a little bit to get a head start.
Go for PHP. There are better opportunities for web development. If you want Android then go to Java. .NET is good only for C#, but you will be limited to Microsoft Tools.
Those are all pretty shit.
.NET is the most shit by far though.

Thanks for replying. It looks like the PHP route includes classes on Linux, MySQL, and ruby/rails. Does that seem like a decent start?
PHP. Java and .NET work is drying up. Web based services are picking up.
