So, I'm looking to retrieve data from an HDD and I'm looking to do it via USB transfer.
However, I'm having trouble finding the right power supply.
The drive is listed as 3.5", but the connections on the back -- at least to the power -- are more akin to a 2.5".
It's essentially the bottom drive's size with the top drive's connections.
The HDD is Seagate Barracuda 7200.12.

Lol. The circled parts on the left for both drives aren't for power.
The larger connector on the right is for a Sata based power (just power, no data) and the short connector in the middle is for Sata based data transfer (just data only).
Hopefully this should resolve your PSU issue.

I thought those connected to the power adapter.

2.5" and 3.5" SATA drives have the exact same data and power connectors. That wide set of pins on the right is power, the thinner set between that and your circle is data.

You idiot those pins aren't for the end user.

I already know I'm dumb.

these are the power connectors

thats not the power connectors
You don't need a PSU. USB can power your hard disk just fine.
Just buy a fucking docking station and be done with it.

Okay OP Imma break it down for you
Those pins of the far left? Dont even mess with those, no one uses those fucking things anymore.
The middle one? Thats a SATA connector, the data goes over those and thats what your plug into your mother board
The far right ones are the power. Its the same type of power plug you'd also find on a CD/DVD drive.
Hope this helps.

Those are Legacy IDE pins.
You don't need to give 2 shits about them.
You need to ignore them.
