who here has cable for their isp? I'm moving from Dallas to Lubbock. In Dallas I had Verizon fios until recently when they sold. Lubbock only has a few options and I decided on cable gigabit Internet. What modem/routers do you use?

I'm in Lubbock, only good isp here is suddenlink, who I have, paying like 50$ for 75mb/s dl, but I don't really download anything. I forget what modem they provided me with, works fine, and I think I have a belkin router. Wouldn't recommend torrenting with them, they monitor it, gave me a warning one time so now I just torrent off my phone lol. Oh and why the fuck you moving to this bum hole? Tech?

It's always funny to read about American or Australian internet prices.
100 mbps costs $10 in Europe.

Yeah for school. I'm living with four friends so we're splitting the cost of their unlimited gigabit plan. I was hoping to see if anyone knew what speeds they actually get. I've just suffered from shitty Internet for so long I was hoping to get a good modem / router combo + gigabit speed. Is it reliable?

It's actually pretty reliable, only had outage like back in winter when we got hit with a fair amount of snow, but was up within a day I think, just played off my phone till then. Uhm I don't remember what actual speeds I get for download, but I could download bf4 with all expansions within an hour and a half, I'll post speed test when I get home tonight from work.

You can try it and see if they give you a warning for it or not, and go from there. Wouldn't try to get permabanned cause they the fastest provider out here and cheaper than att.

They're charging $100 for 1gbps
