I know that.
Which is why I'm so confused about it. People said Vista crashes every fucking week and here I am running an 8 year old installation and yet to see a single error message/blue screen
Usually with laptops you're best off with the OS version the machien came with...

I got vista in 2007 and only probs i had was that it did not wake from sleep properly 2 times. (open it up and got a black screen)
Also dualbooted Ubuntu on that machine... Which also ran fine. SPINNAN CUBES and other fun shit.
Good times.

Vista had a rough launch. Once SP1 rolled out, almost all the problems were gone and with SP2, you'll have zero problems.

yeah, vista was only bad at launch
still no reason to use it over windows 7 thoe

xp had similar problems when it first came out
the only difference between XP and Vista is what came next
longhorn was supposed to replace XP in 2003, but was delayed over an over, by the time Vista came out, XP had long since gotten over all the "major changes humps"
with Vista, 7 came out pretty soon after, around when the "major changes" problems were settling down, 7 was technically little different from Vista, and so 7 launched without Vista's problems, because Vista took them on

Well yeah. That's because it drops support in a matter of months. I put my vista laptop away and will be using my windows 7 laptop till 2020.
