new titan x already is cut, 4 of the SMs of the 60 on the GP102 die are disabled. nvidia will most likely release a 1080ti with the same cut and a newer titan later that is fully enabled.

Main reason I spent the extra $$$ on the 580 was to be able to run everything maxed out and run smooth. Yeah, eventually more demanding games come out and you have to lower settings.
