Main reason I'm asking is because I read an article that said it's more trouble than it's worth to install Linux on a Mac.

No it's not. The music is still great in my opinion, and the show so far beats the crap out of the new generation. Heck, it's the first anime where I like the dub just as much as the sub. Maybe a little more. I'd definitely recommend it.

I don't know if you are still here but honestly it wasn't a huge issue, if you want the full functionality of the macbook (multi-touch, webcam, etc) you have to jump a few hoops but if you know how to use google it's not particularly time consuming.

Battery time was a real issue for me but there's a ton of articles explaining how to optimize battery life, mostly just copy/paste scripts.

If you are new to linux maybe it would be a bit difficult but it's definitely possible to have the complete functionality of the laptop while running a linux distro

Alright, thanks. I've been saving up for a Macbook Pro for a while, was just worried that I wouldn't be able to have Mac/Linux in case something in MacOS was too locked down for my tastes. Gonna just go with it and see what happens.
