Where has SLI gone on mid range cards? back when I started getting into PCs, you could have 2 8600GT cards in SLI and do some pretty good gaming with those, and they didn't need any power connectors. The new mid range cards like the 750ti are pretty fast, but severely gimped with the lack of SLI, because some of us might want to have two low wattage cards.

AMD seems to be moving in the direction of promoting crossfire. there's rumors that the RX 490 will just be two polaris 10 GPUs
