Alright /g/ I've had a pair of 24" 1080p monitors for about 8 years now and one died, and the other is on it's way out(I fixed both monitors caps about 3 years ago, but now the inverters are going).
Display technology seems to be at a point where some significant improvements are being made however everyone seems to be failing to produce something that has every feature.
*4:4:4 subsampling
*12 bit color depth for HDR
*Wide Gamut
*Variable refresh rate
*4k Display(at a min of 60hz)
*Infinite contrast via OLED or per pixel lighting
*Displayport 1.3/HDMI 1.4/HDCP 2.2 compliance(some monitors don't even have adequate inputs to get the most out of the display)
I want to buy something, but it just feels like such a waste when the industry is in a complete slump and reviewers are just regurgitating talking points rather than testing and verifying spec like they used to. WTH.

>infinite contrast
you are asking too much

wait for the HDR revolution later this year.. this will open up the possibilities

It says infinite contrast because on OLED pixels are turned off. So you are dividing by zero which is undefined.

What makes you think that new monitors are comming out later this year? Aren't all the new panels that were shown at CES out already?
