They are scams. Don't listen to any of the statistics that you hear from them, it's just capitalism trying to get you to shove money down their throat.

If you want to do development but can't afford college you are better off with self teaching Web and getting either a freelance job or at a local Web firm (location dependent)

I'm at work atm and don't have time to provide links but if this thread is still up when I get home I will.

The ones that aren't a scam are good for people transitioning from another field/degree and already mastered the basics of programming.
