The screen on my galaxy s5 broke a couple weeks ago, everything still worked to yesterday thou.
My battery died 5 minutes before i got home, after i charged it for couple minutes i tried turning it on but the screen wasn't working anymore.
I tried to get the data from the phone on my pc as there are some vacation pics i haven't backed up yet, but after connecting it to my pc it doesn't display the data, there is just a pop up i need to unlock my screen.
I have a PIN lock on my screen, which i am able to write correctly (because the volume buttons make sounds when it's unlocked) but it still isn't displaying any files.
I tried through kies3, but it's just the same.
Any way to recover the data? I probably won't be buying a new display since i wanted to upgrade to a new phone anyway, i just want my pictures.
give it back tyrone

Your phone will probably be completely fine. It's not only broke the glass screen but also punctured the lcd behind it. So it wont turn on properly at all until it's replaced.

But is there any way to recover the data without having to buy a new display?
Went to a couple stores, new display costs around 140 euro (+the costs for them to change it) and i can get a new phone for around 400 (like Oneplus3 which is one im considering).
Got most of my data on sd card as i frequently need to move it from my phones unsufficient memory, but there are still about 300 pics missing.
Buy screen, change it. VoilĂ .
