North of England. Most of the jobs advertised in my area were PHPajeet and ASPajeet jobs. But I'd put a lot of JS an Node stuff on my resume so a recruiter contacted me and got me an interview at the place where I am now, doing Node.

I picked Node because I actually like Javascript, I started out programming by making shitty Flash games with Actionscript, which is very similar to JS, so JS is comfy for me.

Student and work part-time doing IT support at a company that works with local hospitals. My hours are not standard in the least but my bosses are great and bend over backwards to let me come in after everyone has already left. The pay is okay, it mainly helps round out the stuff financial aid doesn't cover.

Once I graduate, though, I'm going to try to get something a lot better.

i'm a dairy farmer.

Blue collar warehouse worker. I work the side of shipping and logistics. Drive various vehicles akin to a forklift and heavy moving machines. 8 hours a day with 10 usually offered as overtime. Currently make $21.60/hr. Will be up to $31 by 2020 as per my contract.

Currently 24. Got the job through my father who has been there for 16 years.

The job is boring, but offers great benefits and pay. I intend to work until I am able to pay off a house around the $100k mark before I'm 35. Then I'll be working until I have enough to just NEET it up for 5 years or so. This is literally one of my only major ambitions. Own my house. Own my car. So I'm only paying $150/month in taxes and maybe $300/month on food. Have enough money for hobbies, and just fucking live.

The team I'm on makes satellite operations software. I help mange some requirements, test procedures, help with write some Python, Perl, and C-based scripts for Test as needed. we have lely A2 robots, they are obsolete at this point, but they were, and still are an expensive investment, so they have to last a few more years.

they are not that interesting desu, they lack so many functions to make them practical, and they break all the time, like vaccumpump getting stuck, because the milkseperator is litteraly built to redirect milk INTO THE FUCKING PUMP if it overflows, had fix that today actually. also the rubber hoses keep cracking, milk quality control units sometimes cause alarm for no reason, laser glass breaks, and the compressor under full load draws more power than the breaker can handle.

some times they like to just shut down everything for no reason, and all i can do is restart the whole fucking thing. takes about an hour or two

anyway, lely A4 are much better looking, and has a lot of improvements compared to the A2. they fixed most of the problems in that.

I do mainly Java backend work in a Scrum team, with on the side being Scrum master of my team. At a major retailer. I'm 23 and have worked since 18. Quitting University at 19 and trusting in my dev skills has been the best decision I ever made.

Java dev work is boring though, but at least I can work 9-5 at 60k eur per year, with about 50 days off per year. Feels good man. Feels even better comparing it to the shitty debt / low income meme lives my peers in highschool ended up in.

we clean from time to time, but we are busy doing other things at the moment. this is actually an old photo not sure they are still there.

i am not sure what they cost new, but now, 15 years later that are probably worth 25k each.
shot from the hip is that they cost around 150K new not including the milk/buffer tanks, controller system and setup.

their beds are cleaned every morning and coated with cut straw and chalk. the robots are cleaned 3 times a day, spider webs probably 3 times a year and the floor has these automatic scrapers going back and forward all the time. its hard to keep it much cleaner than this, man. and believe me, they don't care what the place looks like as long as it is working. we are probably going to have sand beds installed soon.

we also just had some contruction going on from fall last year until now, and we have had this deep bedding section made, in existing buildings. obviously it doesn't looks that clean anymore, but its still awesome.
