Laptop, due to the lower power usage, lower noise, lower weight and resistance to movement, and laptops are cold booted more often so you'll appreciate the speed

Unless you want fast vidya loading then put it in your desktop

This. I had an SSD in my laptop for a while. The responsiveness was really nice, but I just wasn't using my laptop as much as my desktop, so I switched. It's awesome having my desktop boot up so fast and just be more responsive in general.
