Disregarding that, sell me on it. Why should I use it over something like say...Brave? Can I get some actual numbers, maybe an explanation of what its Adblock does that other browsers don't and what's so special about this "battery saver" shit.

No VP8/VP9 assraping my CPU and battery, no deprecated Netscape plugin security and performance nightmares, and engine level content blocking which is the absolute lightest possible (JSON block lists compiled into bytecode via LLVM).

The last item especially makes worlds of difference. It makes uBlock on Chrome and Firefox look like a hambeast, and while Opera's engine level blocking may be comparable I doubt it's quite as good. They're probably doing regular old regex instead of taking Safari's bytecode approach.

Oh yeah, and because Safari content blockers are literally just JSON files signed with a certificate there's absolutely no way for them to phone back home so privacy disasters like Ghostery aren't even possible.

I use Vivaldi and I find it better than Opera, desu. It replicates features that Opera dropped after shifting from Presto. And I am not willing to trust the Chineese. On Android I use Opera and find it more convenient than Chrome, although Chrome is ahead in supporting some web standarts.

the best thing about opera is that cool youtube feature that lets you pop-out any youtube video so i can multi-task

As far as the "locked down" part goes, Safari offers more customization than Chrome does in nearly every way. Chrome doesn't even let you customize its toolbar, what kind of bullshit is that?

Firefox is better in the customization department, but the price paid for that is a non-native UI and an assload of effort to get it looking decent. It's also not sandboxed at all.
