Yeah pretty much. I got the Overseer just because it was $70 w/MIR and has plenty of fans. Not like I actually NEED that many, but I like the idea of expansion. The led fans are cool but weren't a selling point at all. I just don't understand people wanting to rice out their computers, and this is coming from someone who spends 8 hours a day on his. I guess some people don't even pretend to hide their autism level. I can imagine all the salt that could be mined going to an event with a nondescript sleeper computer and just trashing everyone.

I fucking cannot wait for components to be small and efficient enough for this size to be acceptable. Unfortunately, graphics cards are still too chunky, and cooling needs too high for me to be able to have a computer like this.

Hey, I've been doing research all morning for a new case, but I'm not getting superfar because of what I want.

I'd like a smaller case that's capable of ATX, full length GPU, and supporting a watercooling loop for CPU/GPU. Everything I find is a micro-ATX case, which I don't want because you have to pay a hefty premium (20-30% more) for a micro-atx board that has the same features as a mid-range ATX board.

Any suggestions on where to look? Should I just eat the money and go micro-atx?

I got a Thermaltake Versa H25 for free from Amazon recently and went ahead and put my daily driver in it. It's not bad... the build quality is a little suspect, but as long as you're not bruteforcing it with giant hulk hands you should be okay. It's pretty minimalist, just a small (mid tower) black box with a black mesh front.

Hey, that's my old case. System still runnin and giving it to my Dad. I just bought a Thermaltake Versa H15 (no window). V H15 looks much nicer in person but it has hard plastic feet, no screen on most vents and there was a sheet of metal getting in the way of the thumb screw hole (which I had to bend a little).

Thoughts on this thing?

I don't own one but I like the looks of it because it has personality without getting cringy and has decent features (filters, lots of cable management room, snap in bays, etc). It also has a solid side panel option which becoming strangely rare (no, I really don't want a window).

What if you had a case where all the side panels were hinged together?

You pop open the case, locked either using permanent magnets or something like Lian Li's "Front Panel Plastic Kit"

All of the panels are hinged together (the back panel is permanently locked to the case) so you have a case that unwraps in seconds without having to stow away the panels when you need to make changes or just take a look.

Fans can be mounted on subpanels attached to the frame. In my opinion there's no purpose in having side fans (top and bottom fans are OK though), since you really don't need that much cooling in a case.
