Are chromebooks a meme /g/?
I need a lightweight laptop for text editing and browsing the web with a long battery life and I am considering getting a chromebook.

I can get it for about 220 euros atm

which one is it exactly? since its a chromebook the specs arent too big of a deal so it may be worth getting something cheaper
>>55699325
Pretty much. If you want one, just get the cheapest one, I think the Acer 11" is only $149.

this one, because of the aluminum body and 14" screen, I can get it cheaper than on amazon tho from a local dealer

go for it dude
I've been nothing but satisfied with my Acer C720.
it sounds like a chromebook will suit your needs perfectly.

I will say, though; for the money, you can get a faster Chromebook. The Acer 14 has a nice screen and build to it, but that's pretty much all you're paying extra for.

Man, I finally had to replace my c720 with a Macbook Air. Feels kinda bad man

>text editing
Chromebooks have terrible keyboards and no powerful offline word processors
just get a thinkpad t420
>>55699325
Ideapad 100s is as cheap as it gets for netbooks, not sure how cheap chromebooks are.
Seen the 100s for as low as 220 aud

That's why you install linux on them
>>55699781
You're full of shit. Chromebooks have better keyboards than any similarly priced Windows laptop.
>>55699781
LibreOffice, emacs, vim and so on are good enough

Asus x205ta

If I wasn't as paranoid as I am, I might have felt for this meme.
I instead bought a second hand 12 inch thinkpad last year.
Feels comfier than I expected and I'm even deeper into paranoia.
