Has anyone here installed Gentoo on their smartphones? If so, how did it go?
I have been looking into doing this and I a confused on exactly what Gentoo RAP is. My main concern is whether or not it will give me the same gainz that regular Gentoo does.
Gentoo is the only OS anyone should be using on their phone

replacing the OS in the phone? how would that work? you'd be left with an unusable phone, wouldn't you?
if you want to install gentoo in your (android) phone, just use "Linux Deploy"

If you use Gentoo RAP it shares the Linux kernel with Android
Don't tell me you need to compile on the phone...

As long as you have a recovery installed, you can flash any compatible operating system, and then flash your old OS back if need be.

from what I've read, there are no open-source(?) drivers to manage phones (baseband?). that's what I'm talking about. sadly, you just can't replace the whole thing, because then you wouldn't be able to make the "phone" part (and probably some other hardware) work

no idea, desu. I'm too lazy to compile gentoo.
This seems pretty interesting desu
