Is there any point in having a case fan? Im using a i5 4460 (stock fan) and gtx 960, very rarely are their fans spinning. The only thing that's making noise is the case fan and was wondering if i might as well throw away it

Fans are a meme. You don't need them at all. Just like thermal paste. Take them all out and enjoy absolute silence.
How about not being a poorfag and getting decent fans? You don't even need meme poo fans if you want silent operation.
Been running without thermal paste + no case fans for years now. It's a meme. Tried going a few months without CPI, but I missed the humm of my PC

Without CPU fan*

Thermal paste actually is a meme though. My CPU is being cooled by a stock cooler and toothpaste. That is all you need.

Swapped out coolers for my cpu the other day and because of little thermal paste it reached 70°C real quick

Yes they are
Unless you are using multiple hdd drives, high tdp cpu and a sli or crossfire of cards without radial fan
Im using at this moment a skylake i3 and no videocard have a case fan set to start if the cpu temperature goes over 45celsius
In a month it never started
Fans are just tech buzz-words. You don't need them. Fan companies will make it seem like every computer needs one though.

I'm running my i5 2500k with no cpu fan because it died. I assume the heatsink by itself helps with heat right?
