Yeah. I actually want to use Firefox and I end up using Chrome because it works better. One of my favourite documentaries is Code Rush and it makes me sad to see Firefox locking up and crashing etc. Maybe I'll go back and see if it's any better.
they are not blocking flash content they are blocking flash trackers.

The main thing they want to block are invisible flash elements which are usually used for tracking users anyway so this is a net-win

and just use chromium, still a mainly ff user myself, but chromium works for stuff ff doesn't, like netflix on linux. or flash for lewd text games.
