Where were you in life when you realised software has no value and we are sitting on the worlds largest financial bubble?
>>
Why would software have no value? It provides professional users with tools to produce something users use

I got baited didn't i

It's information so it's infinitely reproducible, it should be illegal to sell software or for it to be proprietary for the same reason insider trading is illegal. Same goes for anything that can be represented mathmatically (aka seen on a computer) so all forms of digital media like movies books and music as well. As for the it takes time to produce argument I take a shit for 20 minutes a day it does not mean the shit has value. Also the skill of programming is incredibly overvalued as everyone one earth has access to the resources to learn how and it does not take long, with proprietary standards and fucking retard can produce spaghetti code for microsoft.

Programming has value if someone wants it. Just like your shit would have value it someone wanted it.

What the bubble that OP is talking about is resting on an obsolescence type of market where operating systems get 'old' and then you get a new one with all new software or upgrades.

So yeah. The bubble will burst a bit but programming will still have some value.
>>
i hope software revenue streams change type soon, but i hate monthly fees

welcome to software as a service, the current business model that everyone is frantically trying to switch over to.
>>
A programmer has as much value as a translator.
You don't speak Chinese, so you hire someone who does.
You can't write software so you hire someone who can.

Of course translators are having a difficult life now that everyone and their grandmother speaks English.
This probably won't happen with programmers.
