I am considering this laptop, I am a simple man with simple needs. Work, vidya, and school will be the main interest. Nothing too crazy. Why or why not? other suggestions please?

Kek, it will be slow as shit
Find a laptop with a 500GB SSD, otherwise its just a waste of money

ye im a noob to this havent had a laptop in years all input helps. thanks
>>55671461
Yeah SSDs are really cheap nowadays so you can get a 500GB one for about $120/£130
The rest of the laptop seems great though, its just using a physical hard drive will slow shit down, we live in 2016 and they are no longer needed
>buying anything but a macbook pro
kill yourself Dell shill fag

i5 processor decent enough? what about video card? only other thing im a little lost on, and my search should narrow down. If I had porn id give it to you anon but not at home.

Had macbook and went to shit like every other apple product ive owned.
>>55671560
i5 is fine for gaming, i7s offer minimal performance increase considering their price, they're only good for video editing and stuff
I have no idea how mobile graphics cards work but I'm sure you can search [ 960M GTA V ] on youtube or something
Another thing you can do is throw away the shitty hard drive and tiny SSD they give and replace with with a larger one, but I have no clue how data/OS migration works since I've never done it myself

How come I have a third hand macbook pro from 2006 and a second hand one from 2009 that both still work as new and get used everyday?
Hate all you want on apple, but if anything, their shit fucking works. It's just expensive as shit.
I'm in the process of replacing my 8 year old laptop with this one OP:

It's a decent budget gaming laptop with 1080p IPS screen, 960M, 256GB SSD, i5, and 8GB RAM
I heard it has pretty bad keyboard and touchpad but I dont mind carrying mechanical keyboard and gaming mice for LAN parties and such
>>55671713
thanks anon i was glancing that one as well as long as keyboard is backlit im not too mad, may consider mech keyboard as well

>buying consumer crap
>buying into 'specs'
what's the point of a laptop that breaks 1 month out of warranty? Go business class or go home.
>>55671892
What the fuck are you talking about you freak
>>55671713
I've had that one for a few months now. I love it. Only difference is I don't have an SSD for it right now. Might change that later if I feel like it.
But yeah, it's good. I haven't had any problems with it. I think the keyboard is fine. My friend likes the touchpad but I don't ever use it.
>>55671811
Keyboard does have a backlight and you can turn it on and off.

I'm talking about first-hand experience with Dell's consumer line
