Business laptops can be upgraded as in exchangeable CPU, RAM, SSD, Optical. HDD, Wifi, and even GPU (albeit proprietary slot) on some models.

The replies are all great so far, the main problem is often times the mobos are designed specifically for the case, therefore you have limited modularity. Surely you can change SSD, RAM and CPU without changing the socket type(hence mobo) but those upgrades won't get you very far.

Why not have a company make a set size case for 12",14",17" laptops and mobos to go with it, Do normies really prefer a thin laptop they then re buy every 5 years?
