>created SLi dual card feature in 1998
>two Voodoo 2 cards in SLi have full double performance over a single card
>99% of Glide API games are compatible, only ones that don't work are super old DOS ones
>no deterioration in visual quality, no microstutter
>almost twenty years later Nvidia and AMD dual card solutions are still total shit
Huh?
I heard you could use two 56k modems together as well

VERY different technologies in use then versus today.
Glide was cool, but Vulkan is basically this generation's Glide.
Screen space effects happened. One card needs to know what the other one is rendering meaning there needs to be communication between the devices, introducing severe performance bottlenecks.

Nvidia doesn't know how to use it, and doesn't want to share with someone who could probably make it run better.
