Whats the best screen size for a tablet that is meant for studying?
I plan to use it for pdfs and powerpoints.
What do you suggest /g/ ?

a lot of etexts are inconsiderate of the user and are straight pdfs or epubs of the textbook. publishers are lazy and won't reformat just because it's irritating to you.
i have a little toshiba guy that's 8" or so, maybe a bit smaller. it's alright, gets the job done, but it gets frustrating when trying to scroll around those gigantic textbook pages.

Yea, I've always found it difficult to read using one of them small screens, can you recommend a screen size that makes reading a little bit enjoyable?
Also do you have a specific tablet in mind?

~10 inches

I had a smaller tablet once but one day I was siting next to this guy in class that had the 9.7 iPad and I realized how stupid I was.

Now I have one that is 10.1 inches. Much better to do anything from web browsing to read pdfs, there is literally no downsides, its just as portable and comfortable to use.

Sometimes when Im in my house I dont even open my notebook anymore.

8" tablets are fucking annoying as I figured out

10.1 is the sweet spot

Most is said. Tbh: I'm comfortable with using a 7 inch tablet for reading pdfs, have to use it in landscape tho.

Depends on the education.
Most technical fields tend to use bigger books, so reading on a tablet is not ideal, in that case, stop being a cheap cunt and buy the paper books.
Presentations are usually given as PDFs made for a low resolution, so any tablet will do there.
Good tip if you have to make a lot of presentations: if you can't fit all the content you want on a slide so it is readable on a phone, then people won't be able to consume the slide during your presentation.
But some professors use their slides as reading material, so when you go to a tablet, you are fine. (Tablets being larger than phones, 7+ is fine for this)

As for note taking, I would recommended that you don't use a tablet.
They are way too slow.
Humanities is mostly words, so a laptop with a keyboard is better and maths is easier with pen and paper.

Yes. Pen and paper is a much better user experience than the current tablets.
Get a good pen and blank paper.
Don't get that crap with lines or squares on it, go blank.
What I do is I get a spine and front and make holes in the paper from the printer (which is free) and then I have a good collection for my notes.
Spending a little extra on the spine is worth it so you easily can add or remove sheets as you want.

I use a 13" tablet; it's definitely the best size for PDFs.

I use a thinkpad tablet 2 for the purposes you mention without mishap.

The optional keyboard(physical keys, not membrane garbage) allows for typing notes.

It has a wide resolution, which people don't like. But it makes the device easily held and read with one hand like a small book sometimes.

So, +1 for 10.1" widescreen. I've tried a 7" Galaxy and that was no fun.

Screen size isn't as important as weight is for a tablet. 7-8" is the largest that has an acceptable weight today. 340g max.
>>
I use a 10 inch tablet but it's too small. Textbook pages can be fucking huge.
