holy fuck is that cancer.
Why is your Speccy all black and shit?
>tell me the most resource consuming applications you run everyday
Steam and Firefox probably.
Another matter:
I have a Silverstone PSU 500w. Would it work with an rx480. And what custom model would you recommend? I think the Sapphire Nitro one seems pretty good.

I usually barely get 120fps in Overwatch at 1080p with the lowest settings, so yeah, I kinda do. Would also like a dedicated Plex server and some of the guts from this machine would do well for that.
>>55641975
It's your gpu man
>>55641423
Thanks, hate to admit that is an onboard soundcard though... I built it in Uni, and upgraded a bit after graduation. Had the cheapo SSD, added the NVMe Intel 750. Want to add one of those 512Gb Samsung 950 Pros once the price drops a little bit more. Flash washed out metallic parts, running Dominator DDR4@3200 and a H100i.

>>55642153
Got into it way before DOTA 2 came out, and now I like the controls and interface better.
>>55641984
True, but a 25% bump in the CPU along with a new graphics card wouldn't be too bad either.

minimal input lag, distinct colors and effects so in a teamfight it's not a clusterfuck, it's like chess, you actually are able to react to specific actions. dota2 has issues with nvidia optimus, dota2 has worse smurf protection. it's mostly about fun. it's like choosing nintendo over ps2.
>>55636600
I don't have speccy but I would say mysqld, vmware and Dota 2
Overwatch. I play other games but it's the only one I play almost every day.

GPU encoding is shit quality, because GPUs use an ASIC, which is a fixed settings encoder, it will be nowhere near as advanced as a software encoder being run on pure CPU power where you can change whatever settings you need/want.
Of course you use a lot more computing power to do this, but if you're going for quality over speed, it's well worth it.
Pic related, my encoding rig. And while yes, it has a GTX 960 which can do hardware HEVC encoding, the quality is lacking so I never use it besides for game streaming (because streaming a game its more important to have higher FPS in game than a good quality encode since you're not making a bluray or some shit)

asics support high profile encoding what are you on about man, it must be your software, just set higher bitrate
>>55642500
>asics support high profile encoding what are you on about man, it must be your software, just set higher bitrate
Are you retarded? Just look up reviews on GTX 960 hardware encoding vs proper handbrake encodes. It is fine if all you want is a passable encode done quickly. But if you have enough CPU power at your disposal, proper handbrake settings, or other software encoders, will allow for MUCH greater quality as well as debanding or other fixes you may wish to implement which you can't when using hardware encoders.
>>55642566
what software are you using for gpu encoding? I'll do some research
