Hey /G/ I've never put a laptop hard drive into a desk top can anyone help me
>>
Don't do it. The hard drive will get fried because a desktop supplies too much watts for a laptop hard drive.

1. plug it in
2. reflect on your poor life choices
>>
just stick it in, RAM IT IN, YEAH AHH~
>>
This is a great way to fry your hard drive. Desktops deliver way too much voltage on the rails.

Ignore these samefag trolls, its perfectly fine to connect a laptop HDD to a desktop. The device will only draw as much power as it needs.

The responses in this thread demonstrate once and for all that /g/ is just /b/ with the wrong screwdriver.
Tech comprehension is at an all-time low.

you'll need a 3.5in to 2.5in adapter if you don't have any 2.5in bays. otherwise you can just not mount it, which is probably fine as long as you don't move the case around while its in use
>>
>>55610366
Vibration could still damage it.
>>

its a laptop drive, they're designed to take a beating.
>>
