Does anyone here use https://chocolatey.org/ ?
Is it good? Is it an objective improvement or just something to pander to people that are subjectively used to Linux?

No.
Software in repos is usually outdated so you end up checking and or updating packages yourself. It is not made for managing the whole system either which makes it just another layer of clutter ad shit you have to maintain yourself.

I use chocolately every day, Factory install windows, and run a script to tweak lots of things, including installing software. It's like ninite except WAY more packages, only problem I ever had with it ended up being Sourceforge going down a few days ago.
I think for power users its a big improvement, especially if you're reinstalling on Windows boxes a lot. Plus being able to just say oh oops I need bonjour and type choco install bonjour -y and bam, done.

I have run into outdated versions and broken packages, but it's seriously 1 in a 100, and even if it does install an old version, almost all modern software updates itself.
