They mean that when you leave your computer on for literally years at a time, it won't crash using Linux, while it likely would running Windows or macOS.

Ubuntu's installer is pretty known for being "meh", you should check out Fedora.

Yeah, I'm gonna ahead and install Windows 7 on it. After installing Lubuntu the sound isn't going through HDMI, even though I did the stackexchange steps to enable it.

Yesterday my dad bought a laptop with Windows 10 on it.

Both my dad and the store thought it was broken several times when it just showed a black screen for 10 minutes. Supposedly it was just updating each time.

Once you get a few extra repos in your system (copr, rpmfusion) then I think it's about as good as Debian testing, but in the end I wouldn't say it's worth it.

I don't have much reason to uninstall it though.
