Why do normies do this?

I'd ask if you could really be this dumb, but I remember where I am.

Carry on...
>>
>>55544392
>powershell

People use that? It's slow as fuck apart from a few specific tasks, and with a bash shell incoming it's totally useless.
>>
>>55544410
Exchange for 800, Alex...
>>
>>55544410
>totally useless.
I sure love going back to piping strings instead of objects
>>
>>55544441
It's a nice point, but with the performance being dogshit for any operation of scale, it's just not viable. The list handling is ridiculously bad.

If I really need to do something so unwieldy that bash doesn't do it, I'll write a script in a suitable language for the job.
>>
>>55544409
I wish anons would stop being retarded on purpose, just for the sake of being retarded.

How do you define scale? For system building, operation ordering, etc, it's perfectly viable.

> The list handling is ridiculously bad.
Uhhh... No? Lists and arrays are fine, but if you really don't like it, put it in XML.
>>
>>55544508
>scale

Primarily data-handling, sorting, structuring etc. It's okay for a few files, but if you need to use it for large and complex directory structure it's fairly slow - which has always been an issue with .NET - even at, say, 100k files you'll find powershell has a major performance disadvantage over almost all alternatives.

For small macros it's nice, but for those tasks there'll little practical advantage from passing objects - it's doesn't offer anything better than bash.

>lists
XML is almost mandatory.
>>
>>55544582

But can I easily control my vsphere with bash?
>>
>>55544410

>Ubuntu on Windows
Enjoy your not working Botnet on Botnet, Pajeet.
>>
>>55545056
It's going to be awful - but perhaps an improvement over what already exists.
>>
>Hate botnet
>Use cortana

You don't hate the botnet.
>>
>>55544582
>large and complex directory structure it's fairly slow
This isn't an issue I have, but to be fair I don't really touch directory structures.

Most of what I do is deployment automation, and task prediction.
