Yes, we know everything is already from China but in here we discuss the no/low-name cheap shit you see on Gearbest, AliExpress, eBay and similar sites.

Want to contribute to the infographic? Take the best possible photograph you can take of your favourite chink shit (this can by anything from chink smartphones, memebuds/headphones, chink SSDs, powerbanks to quadcopters and include some of its pros and cons.

Got my Fiit VR 2N and 8Bitdo

Unfortunately my Zenfone 5 doesn't have a gyroscope as Asus only put it in the Zenfone 6 and newer zenfones.

I don't have any games to test with the 8Bitdo yet but so far build quality on both of these are pretty good.

My Galaxy Note I N7000 has gyroscope though so I guess I'll be using that until I save up for a new phone.

Any must have VR apps?

I received some things. Left to right:

4-gang USB charger. It functions. 2x 2.4A, 2x 1A, all ports seems to perform as advertised. Has a light on it, it would make sense that the light was red when charging, green when charged, but no, like 90% of Chinese merchandise featuring LEDs it just wanders aimlessly through colours for no reason. Decent build quality otherwise though.

HLight Bluetooth speaker LED bulb. Bought for meme purposes. Have not as yet succeeded in establishing a BT connection, but it works mighty fine as a quite dim bulb, if that's what you're into.

10m Endoscope. Is slightly more than 10m, so, bonus. Is fitted with a microUSB connection, so you can fit it straight into your tablet or phone or whatever, but came with a standard USB adapter as well. there was also a tiny CD which purportedly contains software for your PC but it's all in China language. Image quality is pretty good, dimmable LEDs could be a bit brighter, but if you were using it to look in enclosed spaces like your large intestine I'm sure the illumination would be ample.

Little keypad: I'm 80% sure that when I bought this it had pins, but the one I got is through-hole. Whatever, China, just whatever. Does its job. I was hoping the buttons would be rubber but they're plastic, they feel alright though, pleasantly springy.

Motor driver board: I haven't tried it yet. A lot of the pins and components are bent way out of shape but I'm going to be charitable and attribute that to rough shipping. And then I'm going to throw that charity away and say it's still the vendor's fault for not providing any packaging whatsoever.

Breadboard power supply: pretty much the same deal as the motor driver, got a good smacking around. If it works it should be neat though, 3/5V output, it has a switch, and it has a female USB port which I guess is a 5V output? I'll investigate later.

It seems to be quite the technical piece, you get a list of roms to pick from (the ones you put on the SD card) and it seems to flash the rom from there to internal flash.

Second hand used cartridges are hard to come by here and cost about €75 for TNMT Turtles in Time and €40 for Probotector (Contra III: The Alien wars).

They are probably alright. I can't recall any anon who has had one fail. Just keep in mind you are most likely getting some of the worst TLC on the planet kept together by a fairly competent controller. They will probably fail when a few 100 GB have been written to them, but will probably work fine up to that point.
>>
>>55522299
Yo, that's pretty fucking cool. I have an SNES but not a lot of games for it and I don't really have the space for buying a ton of used games, and I think in the long run that will be cheaper too. Thanks for posting it!

Is there a version for Genesis and/or N64?
>>
Is it normal my JJRC H22 doesn't fly properly? I tried plugging in the battery in a flat surface and recalibrating the gyro, but everytime I power the remote and lift up the left joystick, it looks as if it wanted to flip to a side. I've tried throwing it up in the air and pushing the left joystick up but it just flips over itself until it falls down.

It's as if a pair of motors were working harder than the other. This started happening after I changed one of the props because I lost it.

Depends on what you expect and what you want to pay and for what you'll use it for. I got a S180 60GB Kingdian two weeks and it works great. Run Windows and Linux on it and had no problem till now. It has a R:300/W:70 speed and it's good for a cheap SSD. (For comparison: My Intel 180GB has R:500/W:160. But while normal system usage and lukring there is no felt difference.)
>>
>>55521822

I know right? It's crazy that the phone is that cheap. ($285CAD with duty/shipping/etc)

I would not have thought twice paying $500+ for it.

I guess i'll see how the phone fairs in 6-12 months - I'll be content if the phone lasts a year and a half having paid only $285.

MIUI is pretty nice - though I think I would prefer a stock android 6.0.

btw: to any poverty canadians here the Redmi note 3 pro does work with WIND Mobile (well 'works' is maybe too strong of a word - it 'works' just as shitty as any other wind compatible phone)

>Probably just second hand, I don't think it's that easy to make ram.

not very expensive to make - especially when from 9-5 you make ram for some OEM. Most likely though the ram is either used, fell off the back of a truck, or didn't meet manufacturer specs (and should have been thrown out)

> But you shouldn't take the risk of getting something wich could damage your system. RAM isn't that expensive in the first world.

I find it hard to believe ram could damage your computer - it will either work or not work. Only thing I can possibly think of that could damage a computer is a bad PSU. Even then, unless it's throwing crazy wrong voltages at the mobo I doubt anything bad can happen.

It's not 1990 anymore, it takes a lot of effort to actually break a computer.
>>
>>55522793
for real? I can live with slow boot times, some games stutter thanks to disk loading though which can be quite annoying, but by putting them on another mechanical they seem to work fine now, I'd rather upgrade my 760 first

>>55522675

Turn it on, bind the controller, then both sticks to either lower-left or lower-right and hold them there until it beeps. One resets gyros, one sets direction for headless mode so just do both.

If this doesn't solve the problem check that all your props are spinning freely and the shafts aren't clogged with cat hair or whatever other filth and detritus you have floating around your disgusting abode.

Is the Mi Max really worth that 380+ price tag? That's double the price of the Redmi Note 3 Pro.
4G+128G with Snapdragon 652 seems really enticing but without a removable battery how many years will it last?

The $300 bux version is has the same 3GB ram and snapdragon 650 as the Redmi Note 3 Pro which only goes for $190, $110 bux for a larger screen doesn't seem worth it.

I dunno there is literally nothing wrong with the RN3P it's not even "it's good enough" fast, it's straight up the snappiest phone I have ever used.

So I dunno down the road 4GB ram might be nice, but by then there will be better xiaomeme phones to buy.

I realised today that the RN3P was released in January 2016 (odd considering it doesn't run android 6...)

So I don't really know what the Mi Max offers more than the note 3.

I'm just wary of the 3gb ram part as my phone has 2gb ram running android 5.0 constantly only has less than 200mb left free and I've heard that MIUI 8 is full of ads which might chew up more ram.

While the 4G+128G specs is enticing, the price tag is double of the RN3P, not sure if the 2 more cores of the Snapdragon 652 is worth it.

Holy fuck the left side of the program shows what has been done to the card (it has writen 7.5GB at the moment of the photo) and the right side shows the remaining work (43.7GB needs to be verified) and shows an estimate of time left for it to finish.

What the program actually says is that 64 GB (give or take) has been written to disk.

After that comes the verifying phase, which is still running it seems.

>it has writen 7.5GB at the moment of the photo
This is incorrect, it has written the full 64GB.

>The error log is right there in the picture.
What if the taker of that pic thought it wasn't worth verifying the rest of it because only the first 7.5GB was verified and the rest was failing?
It's logical to assume the rest would fail as well.

SSD's and most computer components in general are ridiculously overpriced here in the EU.

The Kingston UV400 120GB is € 44,80 shipped (that's $49.50!) same with the Toshiba Q300 €48,95 ($54.08!) couldn't find the Sandisk you mentioned so settled for the Sandisk X400 2,5" 128GB another €52,99 ($58.55) couldn't find the EZLink here but you get the point.

I'm not that anon but cheap stun guns won't knock out anyone easily. If you're considering one I'll assume you're not very experienced in street fights and a thief is more likely to be more experienced/confident in such things.
I have a few friends who once had a few of those chink stun guns. You won't be defending yourself against anyone unless they turn their back on you, even then it's not a guarantee. If they're wearing a thicker jacket you're even more out of luck.

Most likely. might want to scruff it up a bit since it probably looks too perfect. Maybe try and put some stickers or markings so it looks like it was from a video rental place.

There's a little MI logo inside of the USB port, fakes don't. You can also find out if its fake by plugging the cable in both ends of the powerbank, if it's a real one it doesn't do anything if it's a fake it tricks it into thinking it's being charged and lights up.
