why in the age of good integrated graphics is /g/ swamped

Because /v/ is leaking. Graphics card threads (expect for maybe the quadros or similar) belong on /v/ and that should be enforced.

I mean if you started threads saying which is better, Xbox or PlayStation it would probably be deleted. Why are graphics cards treated differently is beyond me.

But in reality they are, at least anything that isn't a Quadro or whatever the AMD equivalent is these days. Workstation graphics cards should be allowed — everything else should be kept on /v/ except maybe in build threads or other somewhat reasonable discussions.

I see the point that you're trying to make. I've got sympathy for that. And while you clearly have some idea of how a GPU is structurally different from a CPU, you don't yet have enough experience to avoid looking foolish on this matter. Do some reading on encryption.
