also, how do I fix pic-related
there was a time when the lines were smooth and not teared up

ST is a nice effort towards debloating, but it doesn't play well with ncurses.

IMO the best balance between minimalism and solidity are urxvt.

I do not understand suckless.org, they put 5k LOC into 1 file and say it 'sucks less'.
