>Needing allt hat shit because you don't have a thinkpad dock with a PCI-e port
in which version did exp-gdc fixed faulty lane-signalling or something like that, last time I was looking at this exp was considered cheaper but unreliable because of that, pe4c was recommended one, so when did this change?
>>55496162
is it really that dead here or did he >>55496392 just called you out?
>>55496392
Thunderbolt 3 doesn't have any lane signaling issues, this is why so many manufacturers are embracing it. Thunderbolt was built for this, it took 3 generations to perfect it.
Finally someone put something like this together.
How would an x220/i5 handle this? I have my old 5770 still.
>>55497870
yea, I was talking about exp vs pe4X, wtf you on about or why reply to me?
sick new general op
>>55496277
Don't those have very limited space an power requirements?
>>55497991
if it were me I'd run an extension and a dedicated PSU to negate both of those issues, and it would still look cleaner than most of what we have now.
>>55498062
even if that worked, and the thinkwiki throws some doubt on it, then all you would be doing is removing one cable from the equation for an extra $150.
>>55498062
>>55498109
not to mention, it doesn't work with thinkpads newer than the T400.
>>55497991
300W PSUs are good enough. You can find those for like $10 sometimes on newegg after rebate. I use a 400W EVGA one, which is plenty for my HD 7950.
Pity about the thread and all.
I think it's an interesting topic.
So X220, PE4C, 750ti?
