Why don't you use Fedora? It's bleeding edge, it's stable, and it just werks, plus no botnet.

I use Fedora 23 at work, and debian at home. The biggest issue I have found is that the repositories are small, and that they follow U.S. patent laws.

I have no issue with it for the most part. I do wish that packages didn't have 1000 mandatory dependencies with them. For example, libreoffice in fedora requires java to be installed, whereas debian it is simply a recommended or suggested package.
