That is, an oversaturated market where your once valued degree is now worth less than a history degree

>needing degrees
unlese youre a doctor or engineer it doesnt matter. Do you think a piece of paper can tell how well you type lines of code?
>>
Hardly, Society is rapidly advancing to a technology-dependant stage. People who know how to work their way around a computer are needed now more than ever. Just because you sit at home all day waiting for someone to walk up to your door step and hand you a job offer, doesn't mean that other actually competent people are having the same issues.

Shut up retard.

Half this. Most programming positions are not high level engineering positions where you need critical development skills. At most you'll be doing front end development, refactoring or migration. Managing spaghetti code or doing tiny tweaks to preexisting methods.

You'll never get into a creative or active progression field without a degree though.

Compared to people who have a law/economy degree there is actually a huge need for people with CS degrees and it wont die anytime soon as long as there isnt a large scale nuclear war that destroys every technology.
Just look at how many apps, programs, devices normies use every day and this is just the tip of the market.
>>
You actually need a law degree if you want to be a lawyer.

Any half-brained autodidact can teach themselves CS as good as any CS graduate.
