I want to ban a website from my hosts file.
Let's say I banned 4chan.org and boards.4chan.org
It bans these websites when I type them into my browser but when I type in boards.4chan.org/g it lets me in.
Why wouldn't it ban the entire website?

You need to specify every domain and subdomain you want to block, www and no www. No wildcards, final destination.
Or, you could just exercise some fucking self control and stop coming here.

I can't.
It's really hard.
This place is ruining my life.
Especially /pol/

/g/ sure seems like the right place for you, pal! care to weigh in on the current pressing issue of rx 480 versus 970?

Fuck off.

You can block the fourth channel from connecting to your brain with a bottle of bleach. You simply install crazystraw.ini and allow it in your preferences. Once this is done click download and wait 5-10 minutes for a blue screen of death.
Done.

This doesn't tell me any new information.

Have you tried restarting after changing your hosts file?
>>55406878
waht >>55406865 said,

www.boards.4chan.org
boards.4chan.org
www.4chan.org
4chan.org

>>55406850
Your browser probably cached the DNS query. Try in incognito mode or restart your computer anon.
>>55406878
So what prevents you from removing the hosts entries after 5 minutes ?
>>55406878
You just need to harden up and find the willpower to not go to /pol/ then, Mr. Trump.
I'll hijack this thread for a second: is there a native Windows or Loonix hostfile equivalent for blocking IP addresses? Or do I have to run third party firewalls for that?
