This is launching so close to the reveal date, and they are revealing it right after the rx 480 launch. Nvidia has to have intentionally done that so they can adjust their pricing to stay competitive with the 480. I'm guessing you'll have to pay more for the extra performance, but you'll probably be able to get a 1060 (even if it's 3gb) for the price of an 8gb 480 with a good cooler/PCB.

The 8gb sapphire rx 480 is £250 which converts to ~$330 ( http://www.overclock3d.net/articles/gpu_displays/sapphire_reveal_their_rx_480_nitro/1 ). If the US price is close to the actual conversion for AIB partner rx 480s, and the rumored Nvidia prices are correct ($250 for 3gb, $300 for 6gb), then AMD is finished and bankrupt.

As curious as I am about a 1060 vs 480, there's no way a 1060 is matching $200ish unless they sell that card at a loss. Either Nvidia needs to get their head out their ass, or AMD needs to perfect mid-tier cards, since the 970 sold for a reason.

Fucks up that customers benefits from happen. Same way 970 gtx could easily OC to 980 stock you could have a nice 1060 gtx being able to oc somewhere between 980 and 980 Ti. Also I doubt this cast will cost $300. Yes 1070 are ridiculously overpriced atm but once pre-order retards stop buying them 1060 would end up being DOA if you can get a OC 980 Ti performance for $80 more.
