So /g/, whats the best language to program a game in? Which languages have the best libraries for that sort of thing and also, importantly, which would be the simplest/fastest language to program a game in?
Assembly

This
Code in asm or you're lazy and wasting your users' time
>>55368744
> simplest/fastest
Xna + visual studio + c#
If you cant make a game using those, you're legally retarded.
>>55368744
simplest would be the simplest language.
fastest would be assembly.
the one that's actually used is C++.
>>55368808
i dont mean the game would be fast, im talking about it being fast to program it
>>55368772
i dont really plan to have an "users"
also, lq joke
>>55368838
That isn't limited by your language, just by your skill.
An easy language like python would be fast to develop for even a complete retard, but the game would run like absolute shit with any graphics above ASCII.
Assembly can be fast after years of study, but like I said, C++ is the one people use as a happy medium.

What sort of game are you wanting to make anon?
FPS? Probably C++.
Visual novel? JRPG? RenPy or PyGame would work great.

2d simple rpg.
>>55368946
Just go fucking game maker studio / godot famm
>>55369505
> gamemaker
Literally cancer. You'd better off huffing a bag of asbestos and injecting krokodill into your eyesballs.
>>55370112
Ew, I don't want to imagine what it would look like...

By the time you get even 1/3 the way through making your own rpg engine you'll quit, at least gamemaker you do something before you quit
