So, i bought my PC back in 2010, and it's been serving me well ever since, but recently the CPU has been getting some astronomically high temperatures.
On most games the processor load shoots up to a constant 100% and the temperature hits ~100ÂșC.
This is AFTER cleaning dust.
Did age finally catch up to it? Should i upgrade the whole thing, or is there something i can do to squeeze some extra life out of it? I tried to upgrade some parts before, but the shitty motherboard severely limits my options.

1) replace your thermal compound
2) make sure your fans are still working
3) place your PC into freezer
4) buy new PC
replace the thermal compound/paste/grease. it's quite easy look up on youtube

Replace thermal compound.
If your CPU is holding back your GPU (it might, it's only a dual core with HT) you can upgrade to this: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Intel-Core-i7-Quad-Core-i7-880-3-06GHz-8MB-Socket-LGA1156-Processor-SLBPS-/302001488909?hash=item4650b1040d:g:jXAAAOSwuzRXdcGo
The price to performance ratio for that processor is actually really good, it'll be adequate for any mid-tier GPU (like yours) and you can keep your motherboard.
