What's the best low cost HTPC option /g/ (around 200-ish)? I want it to:
>run Plex media server (with very little to no transcoding and only one local stream)
>run SickRage
>Open a browser so that I can watch Prime content and other stuff that doesn't permit Chromecasting etc.
Things I've looked at:
>Synology DS216Play (pic related. Doesn't look like it can run Plex well based on my googles)
>MSI Cubi (high price without a lot to show for it)
>Kangaroo mini PC (looks like it might overheat at any second since it has no fans)
I already have a HD and a copy of Windows.

Build your own you stupid asshole

I agree with >>55351919 minus the anger.
But seriously, it would be better and cheaper to build a HTPC/Media Server compared to buying prebuilt stuff.

Shield TV.

I disagree with both
managing something like that yourself is a lot of work
I would go for the synology
I put one at my parents place
has an auto update feature
the package format is open source
there are third party repositories
Plex server is in the official repositories
ohh wait, you don't want a NAS ... I thought you want a NAS
