Anyone use Ubuntu touch? I am considering it as an open alternative to iOS or android. I don't need anything other than a messaging app and Spotify so it should be good enough.
I also saw plasma mobile for those who hate Ubuntu, but it doesn't seem well developed yet

How is this any better or more "open" (whatever that means) than Android?

Default root access availability

Several Android forks support that e.g. cyanogenmod

Cyanogenmod seems to have even more commercializing than Ubuntu touch though, with a whole company essentially controlling its development

Does it have whatsapp?
