The former tends to be pretty lackluster and it's usually better to just go with a disassembly.

I never claimed that the anime was objectively bad.

Also, that was a subjective opinion of mine, coming to the anime as a fan of the manga (its on my shelf even) I was disappointed in the direction that it took.
