I got a Note 4 around a year ago and bought a spare battery a few weeks after in case I'd ever need it. The spare seemed to last a tad little bit longer so I just left that one in. My phone would get hot during use but I thought nothing of it thinking it was normal as nearly every phone I've owned has done that
A few days ago I was talking to a friend who told me that wasn't normal and he told me my battery was probably fucked. I put my original battery back in and sure enough my phone doesn't get hot at all.
Could having used a defect battery for so long have any effect on my phone or am I just being paranoid?

What brand of battery is it?

nigga, your phone is ok. I wouldn't use that spare though. Those chink batteries tend to blow up. I bought one straight from samsung because i didnt want to go zerolemon fat on the phone, and its been perfect.

it was a samsung one. I bought a portable charger from samsung and it came with a battery.
Guess I won't be using it anymore. It seemed to work fine, it just got hot.

btw I was asking because I had a s3 a few years ago and I bought a zerolemon for it. I used the zerolemon battery for the longest time and when I put my regular battery back in my phone seemed to die alot quicked then it did before I started using the zerolemon
