Is the modem you use effective in overall internet speed? What

I'm actually using a Intel NUC i5 has a pfsence Router/Firewall + The archer c7 v1(For wireless and VLANS) in my room while having some cheap asus connect to it to broadcast WiFI for the rest of the other homes.
