I have very little manhours with openbsd aside from the setup which is a bit annoying.

Not to say there isn't problems with it. I have to use C++17 features in the compiler for class and I can't do it on openbsd.

Because the devs want to use it as one. It's not like they don't succeed either, OpenBSD is great. I've run it on my laptop for years and am going to switch to it on my desktop soon.
