Truecrypt remains the only audited, and most heavily scrutinized, full disk encryption. Go to the GRC website to get the binaries.

GPG4Win and protect the keys. Some apps have their own password protection, but that encryption strength varies. Bitlocker works for full disk stuff and stops most attackers.
