I know /g/ isn't a tech support team, but I've searched all over google and I've found absolutely nothing.

A few weeks ago my ISP gave me an in-browser message and sent me an email about one of the computers on my network being suspected for having the Zeus Trojan. I did everything to ensure it wasn't my computer, and I believed it was my girlfriends. Thing is, I have two different modems, and our computers work off separate modems altogether. Earlier my graphics driver gave me a message saying my graphics driver crashed and had to be restarted. Alright, fuck, it restarted itself and I looked on google for answers. Nothing.

Later this evening I found out my girlfriend received the same error message on her computer. I use Nvidia and I don't know what the fuck she uses. I highly doubt this is coincidental, but considering we work on two separate modems I can't fathom the possibility of cross-contamination.

I also have Norton Antivirus, if that helps with anything.

Any ideas? Thanks in advanced.

Back up your and your girlfriend's important files and reinstall both of your OSes. Then learn to make backups so this doesn't happen again.

Most likely a fake notification in the browser that uses your ip to determine what isp you have. These usually pop up with some 1800 number straight to POO land where some pajeet will try to scam you out of hundreds of rupees.

Zeus trojan has nothing to do with drivers. OP's situation is either coincidental or he has more problems than he suspects. Also, Zeus can't "cross-contaminate" between modems, so unless OP is watching terabytes worth of straight up russian porn on both computers I can't see both of them being infected.

OP, backup, reinstall, afterwards (not before) change any important passwords such as bank and email. And anything else you can think of.

What ISP do you use to give alerts in browser? I never heard about that unless it was warning you that you were visiting a retarded page.

Why do people always imply Russian port specifically?
>>
>>54973052
I always fuck with pajeet when I get those fake calls. The notification wasn't in browser by the way, it was a popup in the lower right hand screen of my computer. Also, they emailed me the same thing. I'm calling my ISP tomorrow to see what's up.

I'm usually good at avoiding viruses and not clicking on bullshit or visiting shitty sites. I only use my computer for school and work anyway, so other than the very rare occasional browsing on /out/ and the random youtube video, I don't really do much other than visit trusted websites.

This alert by the way popped up when I was looking at /k/, I had a screenshot but I think I deleted it a couple days ago.

"In October 2010 the US FBI announced that hackers in Eastern Europe had managed to infect computers around the world using Zeus. The virus was distributed in an e-mail, and when targeted individuals at businesses and municipalities opened the e-mail, the trojan software installed itself on the victimized computer, secretly capturing passwords, account numbers, and other data used to log in to online banking accounts."

Wiki on the Zeus trojan specifically. looks nasty bruh
