Does anyone here use Cloudflare for hosting?
Do you know if you can host on a specific datacenter (i.e the San Francisco one) so as to have a SF based server? Or how does it work?
Please help, does no one on /g/ run a website?
Cloudflare is a CDN but it doesn't work that way. You need to run a server and you setup cloudflare as your DNS service. You create the necessary A,AAAA records for your server and cloudflare does the rest for you

It's something like a fairy powder you put in your servers. BTW it is free since it is botnet. You could recommend your users to use Decentraleyes instead.

So you're saying Cloudflare isn't actually for hosting per se
What does it mean then when I ping an IP and look it up and it says Cloudflare is the host?

It acts as a reverse proxy. user<->CF<->your server. It allows cloudflare to do things like cache content on their cdn, mitigate ddos, and terminate ssl.

It isn't hosting at all. It acts as a caching server between your server and your clients
