I'm the sole script kiddy programming the (PyQt) GUI to operate the instrumentscin a physics lab (e.g. via PyVisa).
As the experiementalists are also going to make ad hoc additions later, I'm supposed to check for version ccontrol systems.
I know of course of the GitHub repository, but what are other version control opions? The scale of the operation is minimal and it's all on a shared drive.
