Take it out. Remove all paste, stickers and any heat pads that don't stick to the heatsink. Give it a rub down with rubbing alcohol, but if you don't have any don't worry, just try to have it clean. Get a oven tray and roll some tinfoil up into 4 balls, and then place the GPU on top of them so they're in the corners. It's to keep the GPU from laying directly onto the tray. Put it in the oven at 100C for around 5 minutes, then crank it to 200C, wait around 3-4 minutes, then reduce temp to lowest you can, and leave it like that for 5 minutes or so. Then open oven door, and allow it to cool over 20 minutes in there (so it's no drastic temp change). Take the card out, put new paste on and slap it back in. The temp re-joins broken solder joints which 9/10 times is the cause for GPU failure. It's not hot enough to break anything, just melt the solder. I run a PC repair shop, any while there's proper tools available, the oven method works maybe 75% of the time. If it still doesn't work, just do it again until it does.

wallpapers aren't too bad - I made a template that takes into account all the dpi differences and bezel gaps, just scale an image to the right size then using that its easy to crop and re-scale to each monitor.

I wanted to get an ultra-wide, but what I do is always either full screen, or vertical scrolling. Because of this, multiple screens work better for me. The odd racing game or so on ultra wide would be nice, but that's what my projector's for. If I were you, instead of an ultra wide I'd get a nice big 16:9 4k screen, and possible a baby secondary (or keep one that you have).

The LG ultrawides allow you to split your fullscreen programs and even different inputs in 14 different ways so that wouldn't be too big of an issue for me. I was considering 4k but I don't want to make the massive GPU investment required to play 4k games. Most 4K monitors also have shit refresh rates.

You wouldn't need to play all games at 4K though. Newer ones you run at lower and it'd still look nice. Medium demanding games could run nicely at 1440p and things like L4D2 you could hit 4K no problem. I can say with my Acer 27" that I personally wouldn't go to 4K until both the panels, and GPUs are down in price. Games at 1440p are gorgeous. 27" is a perfect size for my main screen. 144hz is a bonus also, playing older games like BC2 at 1440p at 144hz is lovely.

The desktop scaling at 4k is still awful I've heard though. Right now I'm still at 1080p on a 24" monitor so the jump to 1440 on an ultrawide 32" will be awesome, even if it means I'm losing a bit of screenspace.

DAC will connect to your computer usually by USB, then your player has two RCA outputs which will also go into the input on your DAC. Then you simply plug your phones into the headphone jack (which it'll more then likely have) and either the balanced or unbalanced outputs will go to your speaker monitors.

Pretty damn sweet I think. This is my first pc, I've been a console player since super mario 64, but I finally went for it after watching "pc porn" like jays2cents on youtube. Then I caught the upgrade bug and got a 980ti and this monitor. Gsync is the shit, and I bet freesync is pretty dope too.

I suppose a 144hz monitor would be better for shooters, but I don't think I want to invest the time into learning how to aim with a mouse. I'm plenty good on xbox, so single player on pc for now. I mean, with legacy of the dragonborn, I'm not sure its possible to stop playing Skyrim

But, that's just, like, my opinion.

I picked up bf4 with premium on sale for $25. In bf4 I keep my controller plugged in to fly, but its clear to me that a mouse is so much more accurate, bot for me it would take so much time to get used to it. It just seems like I put my crosshairs on people and then they kill me and have like 1hp left, but that happens on xbox as well. I think I'm just not a fan of bf4's gunplay. I played CoD from the original on my friend's pc to blops2. I'm not sure I'll ever get the muscle memory for that gunplay out of my hands. I'm also not really a fan of privately owned servers. I'm sick of being kicked for being a better heli pilot than the guy who gives daily blowjobs to the admins, but I guess that's just how it is unfortunately. I hope EA does away with private servers.
